H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is the 10th President of Somalia, re-elected on May 15, 2022. Previously, he served as Somalia’s 8th President from 2012 to 2017, leading the country’s first non-transitional government. His leadership has focused on federalism, security reform, and economic development. During his first term, he prioritized the revision of the Federal Constitution, establishment of federal member states, and democratic reforms, laying the groundwork for future elections. President Mohamud is recognized for his efforts in rebuilding Somalia’s institutions, reviving the economy, and strengthening the national security sector.

H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre is the 21st Prime Minister of Somalia, appointed on June 14, 2022, by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. He also serves as a Member of Parliament in Somalia’s 11th Parliament. Barre’s political background includes roles such as chairperson of the Jubaland Independent Boundaries and Electoral Commission (2019-2020), senior advisor to the Ministry of Constitutional Affairs (2015-2019), and senior advisor to the Mayor of Mogadishu (2014-2015). Additionally, he was Secretary-General of the Peace and Development Party (2011-2017). PM Barre is recognized for his commitment to governance, constitutional reform, and community development.
